NDA wins 26 seats, Congress 12 of 51 assembly bypolls across 18 states
Five months after its landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections, the NDA on Thursday won 26 assembly seats in the bypolls held in 51 assembly constituencies across 18 states. The Congress, which was decimated in the general elections in May, bagged 12 seats in the byelections held on October 21.

TRS has so far got a vote share of 56.5 per cent in Huzurnagar as against Congress's 34.9% while BJP got just 1.12 per cent followed by 0.91 per cent of TDP.
Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM on Thursday sprung a surprise in the bypoll to Kishanganj assembly constituency of Bihar, signalling that the party may finally get a foothold in the state's politics. Qamrul Hoda, who had initially faced rebellion from within the party, emerged as the dark horse by winning Kishanganj seat by 11,000 votes.
Congress candidate Kantilal Bhuria took a lead of 12,547 votes against his BJP rival Bhanu Bhuria as results of 13th round of counting were announced for Jhabua assembly byelection.
Sikkim CM wins from Poklok Kamrang seat, BJP bags Martam
Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang aka PS Golay won the bypoll to the Poklok Kamrang assembly seat by 8,953 votes. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) founder defeated his nearest rival Moses Rai of the Sikkim Democratic Front, an election official said. While Golay registered 10,811 votes, Rai polled 1,858 votes. The SKM supremo secured 84 per cent of the 12,870 votes polled in the seat on October 21.

Himachal Pradesh bypolls: Congress candidate in Dharmshala loses security deposit
Congress candidate in Dharmshala Vijay Inder Karan lost his security deposit in the bypoll as he failed to get even the required one-sixth of the total votes polled. Karan could get only 8,212 votes out of the valid 5,2485 votes polled. He got 15.64 per cent votes whereas he was required to get 16.67 per cent (one-sixth) of total valid votes to save his deposit.
