Bright students get wings to pursue goals
tnn
Lucknow: Riya, a resident of Greater Noida, aspires to become an IAS officer. Her father is a farmer and the family survives on a modest monthly income. Having secured 88% in Class 10 and 90% in Class 12, Riya has taken admission in BA economics at Gautam Buddha University. However, she still requires quality coaching and proper guidance to move closer to her goal.
Today, she no longer feels disheartened, as Noida Power Company Limited’s ‘Project Samarth’ is helping give wings to her aspirations.
Like Riya, Prashant from Bilaspur village in Greater Noida has big career goals. After scoring 92% in Class 10 and 85% in Class 12, he has secured admission in BTech. Until recently, he was worried about how he would continue his journey, but with the support of Noida Power Company Limited, his dream now appears within reach.
These are not just the stories of Riya and Prashant. Under its CSR initiative, NPCL is actively working to give wings to the aspirations of talented students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. The company has extended financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to 10 meritorious students within its licensed area to support their tuition and coaching expenses. This assistance will be renewed annually based on their academic performance and will continue until they complete their respective courses.
Under NPCL’s ‘Project Samarth’, the selection of these 10 students for the ‘Higher Education Scholarship Program’ was carried out in partnership with NGO Buddy4Study India Foundation.
Company spokesperson Manoj Jha said, “This initiative by NPCL will not only ease the financial burden of meritorious students but will also strengthen their confidence and guide them toward achieving their dreams.”
