Bomb hoax at Novelty cinema hall

LUCKNOW: District police went into a tizzy after the manager of the Novelty cinema hall in Lalbagh area informed the police that he got a phone call from a person that there was a bomb placed in the cinema hall which will blow in a few minutes.
The hall manager, Rajesh Tandon called the police officials about 1.30pm and told them that he got the call to alert those watching the first show in the movie hall.As the men-in-khaki came to know about the incident they rushed to the site. Senior police officials including the inspector general, A K Jain and DIG Lucknow, N K Srivastava reached the site and got the hall vacated of the staff and those watching the movie.
When all those inside the hall came out, a team of anti-sabotage check along with a bomb disposal squad went inside the hall and did the inspection of the place for over half an hour. Later when the team could not find anything suspicious inside the place they declared it as a hoax call and those that had come to watch the movie were allowed to go inside.
A senior official said that it looked like a prank played by somebody but investigation in the matter was on. Police said that the manager, Rajesh Tandon had given them the phone number from which the call was made on his cellphone and efforts were on to trace the person to whom the phone from which the hoax call was made belonged to.
