Lucknow: In a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, where he addressed two rallies on the final day of campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that the party had come up against corruption but many of its leaders were in jail on corruption charges.
“In this election, there is BJP on one side which focuses on security, development, welfare of the poor, and honouring traditions while on the other side there is the AAP and Congress alliance, is playing with the sentiments of Punjab,” he said at rallies in Mohali and Ludhiana.
He said that India was called a golden bird due to Punjab but today, its youth were in the grip of drug mafia. The INDIA bloc members were contesting against each other in Punjab. “During the Congress regime, governance seemed to be controlled from a remote, while under AAP’s tenure, it appears to be run from the jail,” the CM said.
In Ludhiana, he spoke in support of Ravneet Singh Bittu, saying that when they were MPs together but from different parties, they still used to discuss Ram Temple, the development of the country and Punjab.
Promising support to Anandpur Sahib candidate Subhash Sharma, the CM said that when BJP won the election, he would flood Punjab with bulldozers from UP.
“This generation is fortunate that Guru Nanak Dev visited the then Ram temple in Ayodhya. Guru Gobind Singh had sent a battalion of Nihangs. Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj had written a verse in the name of Ram incarnation for the Ram Janmabhoomi. We have succeeded in fulfilling the resolutions of the Gurus under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hitting out at the Congress, the CM said that it was so greedy that it forgot Guru Nanak Dev’s holy place Kartarpur Sahib.
