BJP thrives on politics of division,SP relies on vision, says Akhilesh
Lucknow: Unlike Samajwadi Party, which is committed to politics of vision, the BJP thrives on politics of division, SP president Akhilesh Yadav said in Bhubaneswar on Friday."While politics is all about welfare of the people, BJP indulges in professional politics where the focus is solely on profit and loss," he said.
Akhilesh was in Odisha to chair the latest edition of his Vision India – Plan, Development & Ascent (VI - PDA) to be held on Saturday. This is a chain of events where Akhilesh interacts with experts from different fields to feel the need of the hour in different sectors. The Bhuvneshwar chapter of the day-long event summit will focus on ‘Holistic Health – The Key To Neo India'.Accusing the BJP of resorting to politics of hate to further its agenda of divide and rule, Akhilesh said BJP was getting exposed with each passing day."Once the BJP is fully exposed, people will vote it out from Delhi," he said, adding that the SP wanted to unite people with politics of development."Our (SP's) politics is of vision," Akhilesh said adding that the BJP indulges in politics of division which must end.Akhilesh said the BJP was not a political party and operated in a professional manner resorting to ‘professional politics' which focuses on profit and loss."In Varanasi, the BJP is indulging in rampant demolition in Dal Mandi area to benefit its corporate friends. The BJP is operating so professionally that now (govt) agencies are being deployed to steal data of political rivals," Akhilesh said in an apparent reference to the allegations levelled by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.Recently, the Enforcement Directorate had raided the office of political consultant hired by Mamata Banerjee for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal after which Mamata Banerjee accused the centre of trying to steal her party's confidential election data."BJP is going to lose the assembly election in West Bengal which is why they are making all this hue and cry against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and her party will sweep the elections," Akhilesh said.Akhilesh said he was in Odisha to "plant a PDA tree" and expressed his desire to see SP find a foothold in the state. "Last time, I was in Odisha during the by-elections and went to seek blessings of Lord Jagannath. This is my third visit within a year. "Earlier ‘Netaji' (Mulayam Singh Yadav) had worked with Odisha's top leader honourable Biju Patnaik for the socialist movement," he recalled.
