BJP returning with 300+ seats: Yogi
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday exuded confidence that the BJP would return to power by winning more than 300 seats in elections.
Taking out a roadshow in Telibagh to seek support for BJP candidate from Sarojininagar seat and former joint director of the Enforcement Directorate, Rajeshwar Singh, Yogi said 80% of the seats in Uttar Pradesh would go to the BJP again while other parties would have to remain content with the remaining 20%.
1x1 polls

Singh has taken voluntary retirement from service and took the poll plunge from Lucknow’s Sarojininagar where the BJP has replaced its sitting MLA and minister Swati Singh.
“Sabka saath, sabka vikas ke mantra ke saath, hum chunav lad rahe hain aur prachand bahumat ki sarkar banane ke liye janata janardan ka ashirwad dikhayi de raha hai (Inclusive development is our motto. It is evident that the people are going to give their blessings to BJP and we are returning with a strong mandate),” Yogi said, with Rajeshwar Singh by his side.
Vinay Shukla, a resident of Utrethiya, who was present in the roadshow, said: “The turnout was huge. I did not expect that so many people would be present to welcome Yogi Adityanath. The roadshow was appealing and we got to see Yogi in our locality.”
Singh is locked in a battle with SP candidate and former minister Abhishek Mishra. Earlier, BJP bigwigs like MP Kaushal Kishore, BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh and others have addressed public meetings in Singh’s support.
Earlier on February 17, Yogi held a rally in Sarojininagar where he said, “A criminal was able to build five buildings barely 500 metres away from the office and residence of the director general of police. The construction took place between 2012 and 2016. I asked officials to scrutinize the files. It was found that the maps were approved in an illegal manner. Our government not only works for development, but also uses bulldozers wherever it is required.”
