BJP blames SP of attack on party candidate
Lucknow: The BJP on Sunday condemned the attack on the convoy of party candidate from Ghaziabad Sunita Dayal.
Party spokesman HN Dixit said the attack was the result of frustration in the ruling party camp as their candidate was losing the electoral battle. He alleged that the attack was sponsored by the ruling Samajwadi Party.
"Accused Yudhveer Bata was leading the Samajwadi Party candidate''s nomination procession.

So there remained no doubt that SP was behind the attack," he pointed.
The spokesman alleged that it was an attempt to eliminate the BJP candidate and countermand the elections as Dayal was way ahead of Samajwadi Party in Ghaziabad by-polls.
Meanwhile, party state president Keshari Nath Tripathi charged the ruling coalition of terrorising voters to win by-polls. Talking to TOI, Tripathi alleged that Samajwadi Party has hired goonda elements in Mainpuri, Karchana and other assembly constituencies to intimidate voters.
"In Mainpuri, they have given a gunner to a murder accused who is openly terrorising voters in BJP-dominated pockets either to vote for SP candidate or remain at home," charged Tripathi.

Moreover, the state government has posted officials of a particular caste who are brazenly misusing their official position to help the ruling party candidates.
What was intriguing, Tripathi added, that Election Commission observers are turning a blind eye to happenings in Manipuri and other places. "Instead of seeking report from the district officials, observers should meet voters to take stock of the situation," he suggested.
Tripathi claimed that the party has brought this to the notice of the commission but apart from appointing observers no concrete steps have been taken to remove fear from the minds of the electorate.
"In such a situation, free, fair and fearless elections were not possible under the present regime," feared Tripathi declaring that a party delegation would soon meet the CEC and other members in this regard.
