Bizman looted of gold chain by 2 ‘sadhus’
Lucknow: Two miscreants disguised as sadhus allegedly looted a businessman of his gold chain and purse near the Old Jail crossing in the Alambagh area on Tuesday afternoon, using Nag Panchami as a pretext to stop the victim's car.According to Alambagh police station in-charge Subhash Chandra Saroj, the incident took place around 12.30 pm when the victim, Rohan Kashyap, a resident of Shakarpur Janpath, New Delhi, was on his way to his aunt's house in Munshipulia, Indiranagar, after finishing work at his company's branch office in Barigwan, Sector-B.As he slowed down near the Old Jail crossing, two men dressed as sadhus and smeared with ash stopped him under the guise of seeking donations for Nag Panchami. When Kashyap rolled down the car window, the two impostors allegedly snatched his purse and gold chain before fleeing the spot. The victim claimed that Rs 4,500 in cash was inside the purse. ACP, Cantonment, Abhay Pratap Mall, said that based on his complaint, an FIR was registered and police have launched a search to trace the suspects.
