Police arrested three people, including two women, from their homes in Amethi on Monday. They have been booked under Sections of BNS.

The complainant, Nasir Khan, a resident of Ghuskar village, was getting sweet biryani cooked at his home on Sunday night to be distributed on Barawafaat.

His neighbour Farid, along with Haseen of Amethi, came and started abusing him for getting sweet biryani cooked.

"When my brother Shakir opposed them, Haseen and Farid took out the ladle from biryani degh and hit Shakir on the head multiple times," Nasir said in his complaint.

"Alam Rais, Surayya and Afroz also joined Farid and Haseen and attacked Shakir and his father Sabir with a burning wooden stick. When other villagers arrived, the accused fled while issuing threats to us," said Nasir in his FIR.
