Bike lifter held by owner near JM Park

Lucknow: A youth was arrested on charges of attempting to steal a motorcycle parked near the police booth at Janeshwar Mishra Park on Sunday. Robin Agarwal alias Rahul (26) was caught red-handed by bike owner Srawan Kumar Gautam, resident of Gomtinagar, who had come to the park with his family. During interrogation, Rahul told police he was the son of Krishna Kumar, the 72-year-old typist who hit the headlines on September 19 last year after his typewriter was smashed by a policeman outside GPO in Hazratganj.Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had then taken note of the incident and on his directions district magistrate and senior superintendent of police had visited Kumar's place to give him a new typewriter. Kumar, said, "I disowned him long time back. He doesn't live with us."
