Beggars loot BJP office bearer's wife in Lucknow

Four persons dressed as beggars robbed the wife of a BJP leader in broad daylight at Bharat Nagar locality under Madiaon police station area on Monday. The four included a woman and three men.

LUCKNOW: Four persons dressed as beggars robbed the wife of a BJP leader in broad daylight at Bharat Nagar locality under Madiaon police station area on Monday. The four included a woman and three men.
Time: 2.30 p.m. A woman in her 30s along with a youth in mid 20s reach Vinay Pratap Singh's house at Bharat Nagar. Vinay, who is the district general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, runs a mobile shop at Daliganj and lives in Bharat Nagar with his wife and a two-year-old child.

The woman robber told Vinay's wife Beenu Singh that they were going to offer chadar at Deva Sharif in Barabanki and for that they were collecting donations.
Unable to gauge the intention of the woman and the youth, Beenu went inside and brought a Rs 5 coin for donation. While, Beenu tried to leave after donation, the woman asked her take prasad, which Beenu refused. However, unrelenting, the woman and the youth kept on pestering her to take prasad and then opened the entrance gate and entered inside the house.
Getting suspicious, Beenu walked faster inside the house to tell her husband, who was in another room.
"In the meantime, the woman robber and the youth caught hold of Beenu and tried to snatch the gold chain from her neck," Vinay told TOI. However, on hearing some noise, he came rushing to the drawing room to see a woman and a youth forcibly taking the gold chain, he further said.
Vinay immediately caught hold of the woman and the youth and started shouting for the help. On hearing Vinay, neighbours rushed to his rescue. In the meantime, the two robbers who came after the woman, fled the spot taking the gold chain with them.

By the time, the neighbours also came to Vinay's house and took the woman and the youth to the police station.
SP (trans-Gomti) Nitin Tiwari was also informed about the incident. Police too confirmed that an incident of this nature has taken place.
The police said that the woman robber had been identified as Raheesa, wife of Sagarbaaz, a resident of Jhabdi village under Gudamba police station area and the youth had been identified as Waseem Khan, also a resident of the same village.
"Only one more person was with Raheesa and Waseem and efforts are on to nab him. A case of loot has been registered with the police station," station officer Jaikaran Singh told TOI.
