Lucknow: Sunni cleric and chairperson of Islamic Centre of India Maulana
Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali said the fesival of Eid-ul-Zuha or
Bakrid provides jobs to 20 lakh farmers.
After offering
Bakrid namaz at Aishbagh Eidgah, Mahali said, “Eid-ul-Azha gives the message of sacrifice and peace. Bakrid brings business on a large-scale and as per a conservative estimate about 20 lakh farmers get job opportunities from this.”
He further said, "According to a UN report, one out of every 10 persons remains hungry and one out of every three people is not getting enough food.
The world is on the verge of a climate catastrophe. Therefore to removepoverty, hunger and unemployment, we all have to strengthen the system of Zakat together. People will have to start small businesses by forming self-help groups. Plant more trees and avoid the use of plastic and save more water." He emphasised that children must be provided education and said we should establish more schools.
