Lucknow: Hours after the post-mortem and the last rites of Ram Gopal Mishra, the local youth who was shot dead during clashes that erupted from a dispute between two communities over DJ music in Mahsi area, his family remains furious and is demanding swift justice.
His father, Kailash Nath Mishra, devastated by the loss of his younger son, said, "Nothing will bring me peace except the fact that the accused gets the punishment he deserves."
Speaking to reporters in Bahraich, Ram Gopal's sister, Preeti, echoed the same demand. "I want the ‘instant' justice for my brother," she said.
Ram Gopal's brother, Hari Milan Mishra, who also performed the last rites, recalled the horrific incident, saying, "We were carrying the idol when suddenly stones were thrown from Abdul Hamid's house. Despite the police being there, they did nothing. My brother tried to intervene, but then, around 15 to 20 shots were fired, and instead of acting against the attackers, the police lathi-charged us. We want strict action against all those responsible."
Hari Milan added, "My brother was married just four months ago. His wife is now a widow, and we demand justice."
