Ayush students to get digi anatomy labs

Lucknow: Ayush students in select UP colleges will get an opportunity to study human anatomy using state-of-the-art anatomy tables, or digital cadaver labs.The pilot project will begin at Govt Ayurveda College and Govt Homeopathy Medical College in Lucknow.“This is a forward-looking move to provide better learning opportunities to our Ayush students,” said Chaitra V, director general, UP, and mission director, National Ayush Mission, UP.She said the initiative would place UP Ayush colleges among a select group of institutions using the technology, including the All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi; National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur; and SDM Ayurveda College, Karnataka“These digital, life-sized anatomy systems allow students to explore the human body through high-resolution virtual models instead of relying solely on real cadavers. The systems offer interactive features such as rotation, zoom and layer-by-layer dissection, along with integration of CT scans, MRI scans and clinical data to enhance medical learning,” she said.She said the most significant feature of the 3D anatomage table is virtual dissection, which allows students to study various organs through digital models without depending on real cadavers.She said that the anatomy tables will supplement, not replace, the existing use of cadavers.
