Deepotsav historic celebration of faith, devotion, say Ayodhya seers

Lucknow: Ayodhya's seer community expressed profound joy, describing Deepotsav on Wednesday as a momentous occasion that came after a long 500-year wait.Calling the event the ‘heritage of Sanatan Dharma', Mahant Bindu Gadyacharya Swami Devendra Prasadacharya of Dashrath Mahal said, "Deepawali and Deepotsav form foundation of Sanatan Dharma and this year's Deepotsav was particularly special as Lord Shri Ram returned to his abode in Ayodhya. The celebration offers a unique opportunity to express our faith and devotion to Lord Shri Ram. The saints feel Ayodhya once again mirrors the scene from ‘Treta Yug', when Shri Ram first arrived in the city after completing exile."The saint community also appreciated Yogi, attributing the occasion of Shri Ramlala's consecration to dedicated efforts by his govt. According to the saints, govt had revived Ayodhya's religious and cultural heritage, filling the entire saint community with joy.Mahant Brijmohan Das Maharaj of Chaubhuji Temple conveyed his emotions through self-composed verses, saying that pride in Ramlala was shared not only by saints but by all of Ayodhya. People were celebrating Deepotsav with immense enthusiasm, united in their reverence, he said.Mahant Rajiv Lochan Sharan Maharaj of Badhaai Bhawan Temple said, "The divine scene witnessed on Lord Ram's arrival in Ayodhya during Treta Yuga has reappeared before us today. Saints are overjoyed to witness the historic moment and participating in Deepotsav with enthusiasm."Preparations were complete to celebrate this extraordinary Deepotsav, lamps set to illuminate everything from the banks of Saryu to Shri Ramlala temple and other temples across Ayodhya. Combining efforts of Sant Samaj, devotees and govt, Deepotsav was not only a religious festival but a message of Ayodhya's divinity and faith to the world. The devotion and spirit of the saints made Deepotsav historic.
