Lucknow: An art exhibition titled ‘Cosmic Dance’, displaying 42 paintings by Ghazipur-based artist
Pankaj Sharma opened at a city hotel on Sunday. Each of the paintings is created to strike the viewer with a surge of cosmic energy.
Curated by Dean, faculty of Architecture and Planning, Abdul Kalam Technical University, Vandana Sehgal, the exhibition is open from 11am-6pm daily till March 5.
Faculty at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, Prof Anand Pradhan was the chief guest. Using water colour, ink, mix media, collage, pencil, charcoal, the painter has depicted different creatures emanating cosmic energy.
“I have tried to defy anatomy to create these paintings, so in some, you can see a form with several fingers while others have creatures with no head. I paint in a state of meditation and try to manifest my imagination on canvas,” said Sharma.
“After post-graduation in fine arts from Raja Mansingh Tomar University in Gwalior, I became resident artist at Bharat Bhawan in Bhopal,” he said.
