Lucknow: Come winters and your travel plans may go haywire. TOI points out a few apps that will help you plan better and ease your travel plans this foggy weather:
* NTES: Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems, this official app provides live status of running trains and also of cancelled, diverted and rescheduled trains. The unusual name makes it difficult for users to search for the app, but, what’s there in the name!
* Train Enquiry: This is not the official TrainEnquiry.com app but because of its name, this pops up first when you search GooglePlay. The app helps you access the TrainEnquiry official website from where you may find the exact location of the train, live station updates, information about diverted, rescheduled and cancelled trains. The ads are a turn off though.
* FlightAware: This is one of the popular flight tracking apps. Here you may get the latest updates about your flight, any delay experienced by the corresponding flights, normal flight duration, speed etc. TOI suggests you to check with the airline for official information.
* IndiaRailInfo: This is also one of the unofficial railway enquiry apps that runs the popular rail enquiry website. Here you may search for live status of trains and also stations (all arrival and departure in last 24 hours), seat availability, search for trains between stations and also connecting trains. This App crawls information available through the official railway websites.
* TripIt: This is a great app for frequent travelers. If you give access to your emails, this app will automatically update your flights, hotels, train journeys etc to your TripIt account and source the latest update of your trip. This app acts as your travel organiser and helps you keep track of important information about the trip.

* Google Now: Google Now is one of those apps that helps you track weather, flight and train information and much more. The bonus of being pre-installed on new Google certified Android devices also makes it a must have application. Although in features TripIt beats Google Now, but if you are looking for Google services, this needn’t be overlooked.
* The above apps are available across mobile OS platforms for free. TOI suggests you to check with official enquiry system for official intimations. Also, it is suggested that you provide all your contact details like phone number, email ID while booking tickets as this will help in case of emergency. Bon Voyage!
