Another saga of harassment by politician
LUCKNOW: Monday proved to be a shocking day for the owners of Utopia health club in Gomtinagar. Being harassed by the landlords despite a high court order in their favour, the club owners were left dumbstruck to find their equipment worth over Rs 18 lakh missing.
It was later learnt from the police that the landlords had got the equipment dismantled and shifted to another location for selling it.

What's even more disturbing is that this was not the first instance when the landlords had broken into the tenant's portion to harass the club owners.
In a complaint lodged with the senior superintendent of police, Lucknow, Akhil Kumar on December 12, 2008, the complainant , Anshuman Singh, who is the club owner's son, mentions that the landlady , former MLA, Sumanlata Dixit had been harassing them with an intent to compel them to close the health club and leave the tenanted portion. Several complaints had been lodged with the Gomtinagar police station in the past as well, said the complaint.
The owner of the club, Rana Singh had earlier filed a writ petition (number 2925 (M/B) of 2003) in which the high court had passed an order on April 21, 2005, directing the parties to get their rights adjudicated by the competent civil court and till then, the court said, '' The possession of the petitioner shall not be disturbed.''
However, Dixit continuously harassed the complainant by criminal acts, says the complaint. On the night of December 13, 2008 and December 14, 2008 Dixit's son Shubh Pandey, Ansh Pandey, Bhav Pandey and her niece broke down the wall blocking the passage from the upper portion through the internal staircase and removed the locks of the club, besides three televisions , two machines, six chairs and one table along with Rs 3,800 cash and some important documents, mentions the complaint.

Thereafter, on December 19, 2008 the complainant found that Dixit had again entered into the portion and removed all internal doors and the main door of the gallery.
The complainant had, in his complaint , requested the SSP to issue suitable directions so that the erring persons could be punished. SSP Akhil Kumar , when contacted, said that he had asked the police station concerned to register an FIR in the connection. The former MLA could not be contacted despite several attempts.
