Another post mortem today of doc’s wife who died in Thailand
Lucknow: Acting on the complaint of the family, Lucknow police will conduct another post mortem of Priyanka Sharma (32). Post mortem in Thailand stated listed respiratory and blood circulatory system failure as cause of death. The body arrived from Thailand late Tuesday night.City-based doctor, Ashish Srivastava, has been accused of torturing and killing his wife, by sedating and drowning in the bathtub at a hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, where the couple went for holiday.Police said since no expert was available, the post mortem could not be conducted on Wednesday, but would be done on Jan 16.Additional DCP, East Zone, Pankaj Kumar Singh, said, "The autopsy report from Thailand will be evaluated," he said.Satyanarayan Sharma of Vrindavan Colony accused his son-in-law, Dr Ashish Srivastava, of murdering his daughter, Priyanka Sharma, 32 and police registered FIR.The couple, who had a love marriage in 2017, began facing marital issues in 2021 after the birth of their son. Priyanka's father claimed she was harassed over Dr Srivastava's alleged extramarital affair. In Jan, he took Priyanka to Thailand, to cheer her after her mother's death. On Jan 8, Priyanka was reported dead, allegedly from drowning.Suspecting foul play, her father alleged Dr Srivastava administered medication and orchestrated the drowning. The doctor and his family returned to India on Jan 10, leaving the body behind.
