Uttar Pradesh polls: Another Congress poster girl in BJP

LUCKNOW: In another setback for the Congress, another poster girl of the party’s ‘Ladki hoon lad sakti hoon’ campaign, Pallavi Singh, joined the BJP on Saturday.
Pallavi joined the BJP in the presence of former UP BJP chief and chairman of the joining committee, Laxmikant Bajpai. Earlier, two more prominent faces of the campaign, Priyanka Maurya and Vandana Singh, had also crossed over to the saffron party. Vandana had exited the party alleging “ignorance” by party workers.
Pallavi was serving as the vice-president of UP unit of Mahila Congress and her disassociation from the Congress could be a jolt to the party in polls.
Bajpai said the BJP would repeat its performance of the 2017 elections. He said the policy of ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas’ would help in realizing the dream of self-reliant India.
