A 65-year-old Congress leader was killed on Saturday after his car was allegedly hit by a speeding train at Kashthuni railway crossing under Musafirkhana police station area in Amethi.

LUCKNOW: A 65-year-old Congress leader was killed on Saturday after his car was allegedly hit by a speeding train at Kashthuni railway crossing under Musafirkhana police station area in Amethi.
Senior leader in the Congress and owner of a gas agency Virendra Bahadur Singh was killed on Saturday when his car was hit by a speeding goods train at Kashthuni railway crossing, SHO Musafirkhana, said Dipendra Singh.

Singh, a resident of Uttar Pati village, was on his way home when his car broke down at the railway crossing, said police, adding the car was later hit by the train.
