LUCKNOW: Residents of HIG colony in Aliganj are the latest victims of the road digging exercise. On Sunday, the main drinking water pipeline got snapped resulting in heavy discharge of water which flooded a section of colony.
According to reports, digging is being carried out to lay sewer line in the locality under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

But on Sunday evening, the ambitious project proved to be a nightmare, due to unplanned digging of the road. The incident once again showed the lack of coordination between the two departments -- UP Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan.
Pratibha Chaudhary, a resident said a day before some connecting pipelines got snapped resulting in heavy loss of water besides causing lowering of pressure. "However, that was connected. But now this is something really problematic,'' said Manish Goel, another resident.
