Akhilesh Yadav calls off cycle yatra

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has postponed his proposed cycle yatra for an indefinite period.
Sources revealed to TOI that the organisational activities and district-level cycle yatras already continuing in the state have led to change jn Akhilesh Yadav’s plan for cycle yatra which was to be kicked off from September 19. Akhilesh had announced that he will undertake a cycle yatra to start his election campaign by taking on the NDA government at the Centre.
The yatra was to be flagged off by Khajanchi, a boy born during the days of demonetisation announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016.
The next date would be declared soon. Akhilesh will be reaching Mainpuri tomorrow to flag off a cycle yatra by district-level leaders.
