Lucknow: Adhiraj Thakur of Madhya Pradesh defeated Dhananjay Tibrewal (Rajasthan) 6-3, 6-2 while Aleena Farid of West Bengal outplayed Sasa Katiyar of Uttar Pradesh 6-3, 6-4 to win the AITA (boys & girls) tennis championship series finals in the under-16 category.
In the under-14 age group (boys), Dhananjay Tibrewal defeated Abhishek Subramanian (Karnataka) 6-2, 6-2, while top seed Aleena Farid (WB) beat Vaishnavi Chauhan (Maharashtra) in the girls’ category.
In Under-16 doubles matches, Satyam Prakash (Bihar) and Saptapurna Jena (Odisha) defeated Mukul Lodhi and Hruhaan Soni of Uttar Pradesh 6-3, 6-0 in boys category, while Aleena Farid (WB) and Shagun Kumari of UP emerged victorious by defeating UP pair of Sasa Katiyar and Aairah 6-2, 6-1, in the girls’ category.
