LUCKNOW: Police arrested Sanjay Singh Chauhan, the class-IV LU employee, on Sunday in the
marksheet racket
that was unearthed on April 17. Hassanganj police nabbed Chauhan from his sector-L Aliganj residence, under the jurisdiction of Vikasnagar police. It was the seventh arrest in the case since six persons, including a serving LU
examination department
employee, Nayab Hussain, and ex-employee Kirodhan Prasad, who was sacked in 2003 for a similar offence, had been arrested.
Chauhan was
absconding
since his involvement in the racket came to light, said police. During probe, the kingpin revealed names of two other LU class-IV employees, who were also suspended.
“Hussain and Prasad revealed that tabulation charts were supplied by Chauhan,” said SHO Hassanganj Dhirendra Kushwaha. Chauhan will be taken on remand and questioned, he added.
