Party leaders handed over a memorandum to the governor's office.
AAP stir for OBC quota in ULB polls
Lucknow: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a statewide protest against the government’s alleged failure to ensure OBC quota in the local body elections due to a faulty process which recently saw the Allahabad High Court striking down the proposed quota.
While the state government has approached the Supreme Court against this order, the AAP has said that by not following laid down rules for determining quota, it seemed that the BJP did this purposely due to its ‘anti-OBC’ mindset.

In Lucknow, party’s district president Rohit Srivastava led an ‘Arakshan Bachao-Loktantra Bachao’ protest at the Swasthya Bhawan crossing. Some of the party workers were also detained by police. Later, party leaders handed over a memorandum to the governor’s office.
“This protest is to ensure that OBCs get their rights during the local body elections. BJP is anti-Dalits and anti-backwards as can be seen through their actions. The Yogi Adityanath led government came up with such a flawed reservation that the high court had to cancel it, saying that no reservation can be given without following the correct procedure,” he said.
