LUCKNOW: Eight city students, four girls and four boys, from Lucknow University and its affiliated colleges will be part of the Republic Day parade to be held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
While five students are from Lucknow University, a student each has been selected from Isabella Thoburn (IT) College, Avadh Girls’ Degree College and Shia PG College.
“For me and my family it would be a moment to cherish for a lifetime. No one from the family has ever participated or seen the Republic Day celebration live,” said LU student Akriti Shukla.
Sharing the same sentiments, LU students
Nadini Singh
, Kashinath Yadav and Faiz Raza said, “Mere watching the Republic Day celebration on TV used to fill us with nationalism and now when we are getting a chance to be a part of the celebration, the feeling is awesome. We have pledged to devote our lives to the service of our country.”
“Every youth should make sure to watch the Republic day celebration as it will make them understand their responsibility towards their country,” said Shia PG college student
