Lucknow: In yet another incident, a 72-year-old woman was conned out of her jewellery by two men posing as policemen in Baazarkhala area on Wednesday.
The victim, Gayatri Gupta is a resident of Moti Jheel colony in Aishbagh. Gupta was returning on foot from a temple in the area around 7:30 am when a man intercepted her near Sanjay Nagar crossing and told her not to move around with jewellery because many incidents of loot had taken place in the area. “He took four gold bangles from my hand and wrapped it in a piece of paper and kept it in my bag. A little later when I opened the bag, I found out thathe had kept glass bangles,” Gupta told police. ADCP West Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that an FIR under the charges of cheating and dishonesty has been lodged. Earlier in this month, four similar incidents had taken place in the city.
