LUCKNOW: The UP unit of special investigation team (SIT) on Wednesday registered an FIR against 10 officials of the education department, including five teachers, who had secured appointment on forged documents and marksheets.
All the 10 accused were posted in Varanasi and their documents were found to be forged in an internal audit in January 2023.
Those booked in the case included OP Rai (DIOS), Chandrajeet Singh Yadav (DIOS). Ajay Kumar Dwivedi (joint director, education), Bacchu Singh, Bahadur Patel (both assistants in education directorate), Neetu Singh, Munna Lal, Nivedita Pandey, Akhilesh Mishra, Neelam Yadav (all teachers). The complaint, lodged with the additional commissioner of Varanasi, was made by the principal of Saraswati Inter College Sudiya in Varanasi, Mahesh Tiwari on August 28, 2018.
