BAREILLY: The district administration imposed curfew in Quila, Prem Nagar, Kotwali and Baradari areas on Sunday following another incident of stone pelting between Hindus and Muslims over the use of loud speakers during Janmashtami procession in Jagatpur area.
The police registered a case against 56 people for creating a ruckus, brick batting, firing and obstructing government servants from discharging their duty on Saturday and Sunday.

DIG, L V Antony Devkumar said, "Taking cognizance of the complaints, we have arrested 38 people. We've also intensified security arrangements at the place to avoid any further incident."
DM Abhishek Anand said, "We are planning a foolproof solution to the problem and are also going to launch an anti-encroachment drive to keep a check over excessive usage of loudspeakers during religious functions. Schools, colleges and government institutions shall remain closed and the curfew has been imposed under four police stations of Bareilly till further orders."
