LUCKNOW: As many as 329 drivers were challaned for not wearing seat belts while 57 challans were issued for government vehicles using pressure horns in a state wide drive against government vehicles violating rules under
MV Act during the ongoing
road safety week on Friday.
There is a provision of Rs 1,000 fine against those not wearing seat belts and also against those using pressure horns.
The drivers' DL were impounded and will be given back to them once they pay the fine.
Also, the association of government vehicles on Friday met transport commissioner K Ravinder Naik and assured they will get pressure horns removed from vehicles and also wear seat belt.
