32L take holy dip in the Saryu for Chaudah Kosi parikrama

Ayodhya: Around 32 lakh people assembled in Ayodhya on Saturday to take part in Chaudah Kosi Parikrama after taking holy dip in Saryu river.
The ‘parikrama' (circumambulation) in 50km periphery, which started at the scheduled ‘muhurt' at 6.32pm, will be completed by late Sunday evening.
Along with 30 lakh devotees, about 2 lakh seers from Prayagraj, Haridwar, Mathura, Kashi and all the seven Puris, the sacred chairs of Hindu devotion, are also performing ‘parikrama'.
‘Panch Kosi Parikrama' will start on Monday evening in which devotees will walk round the periphery of about 15km of the holy city.
Tight security arrangements have been made for the ‘parikrama'. Senior superintendent of police, Ayodhya, RK Nayyar said that along with civil police, the Rapid Action Force has also been deployed to ensure the security.
"CCTV cameras have been installed at about 200 points to keep a close watch on all the activities in the ‘parikrama' area," the SSP said. tnn
