Ravidas Mehrotra
on Tuesday surrendered before a local in connection with an old case and was later released on bail.

Gyanendra Tripathi had earlier directed him to furnish two sureties of Rs 20,000 each and a personal bond of the same amount.
The court had on December 22, 2016 declared him absconder and issued NBW as he was evading appearance for many years. According to prosecution, Mehrotra along with others had gathered near Kukrail bridge on August 9, 2002 and disturbed traffic, causing serious problems to the public. Mahanagar police had filed charge sheet in the case on which court had taken cognizance and issued summons to him.
