140 crore voters to limit BJP under 140: SP chief Akhilesh Yadav

AYODHYA: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that 140 crore voters will vote this time to limit BJP to a tally of under 140 seats.

The former UP CM who held various public meetings in the Faizabad division said that BJP is nervous and staring at certain defeat after four phases of polls. "The language of BJP leaders has changed. It does not talk about development, jobs, employment and inflation. Their star campaigners are engaged in the agenda of dividing the society. They are telling the same old cliches to the public. The public is understanding everything," he said.

Akhilesh said, "The public is rejecting the negative politics of BJP in the elections. The wind of change is blowing in the country. Not only is the BJP's chariot stuck in this wind, it has completely sunk. The BJP leaders who talked about crossing 400 know they have lost the elections."

The SP chief held public meetings for the party candidates - Awadhesh Prasad from Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, Ram Shiromani Varma from Shravasti seat and Rakesh Yadav contesting for Gaisdi assembly constituency by-election in Balrampur district. The bypolls were necessitated following the demise of SP's sitting MLA Shiv Pratap Yadav on January 26.
