Ayodhya: A man has filed a complaint alleging that an unidentified person impersonated his late father and used forged documents to execute a sale deed of his 1.5 lakh square feet ancestral land to a Delhi-based real estate company. Ayodhya police filed a case in this connection on Friday.According to the complainant, Nandan Shrivastava, retired general manager of a leading public sector bank, his ancestral land located in village Koro Raghopur is registered in the name of his father Brijnandan Prasad who died in 2002.

However, on Dec 17, 2025, some unknown person impersonated his father to register the sale deed of their ancestral land to a Delhi-based real estate firm. It is alleged that the impersonator submitted documents, including both Aadhaar card and PAN card, at the Bikapur sub-registrar's office and got the sale deed executed. During the registry, no verification of the deceased's real identity was done nor were the documents verified.The role of responsible people from the real estate firm, a broker and two alleged witnesses in the fake registry is under the scanner.Shrivastava alleged that this is a planned criminal conspiracy to grab their land. Ayodhya circle officer Piyush Kumar said that a case has been registered in Bikapur kotwali police station based on the complaint.
