After the deadly fire tragedy in Goregaon that claimed 7 lives, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announces fire audit of all such Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) buildings. An officer will be appointed for these survey cum fire audits, said the CMO. Stay with TOI for all updates:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives due to the Fire mishap in the SRA building at Goregaon West in Mumbai. He has announced an ex-gratia from PMNRF of Rs 2 lakh to the family of each of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured.

Sikkim Flood News: Sikkim tourists safe, choppers may start evacuation today
The 7,000-odd tourists-3,000 among them from Bengal-who were stuck in Sikkim following the Teesta's flash flood in Lachen Valley early on Wednesday, were safe and getting help from the Indian Army and local administration, Sikkim government said on Thursday. Weather permitting, evacuation of tourists is likely to start from Friday.
