Bihar bridge 'deliberately destroyed': Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav says it had design flaws

The under-construction Sultanganj-Aguani Ghat bridge across the Ganga in Bihar which collapsed on Sunday evening was destroyed in a planned manner, claimed state government officials.Portions of the bridge, which was supposed to connect Khagaria district with Bhagalpur, were deliberately destroyed in a planned fashion under expert advice as it had design flaws, the officials added.

Centre forms panel to probe Manipur violence

The Centre has constituted a three-member commission of inquiry headed by Justice (retd) Ajai Lamba as chairman to probe into the string of violent clashes triggered in Manipur since May 3, claiming more than 90 lives and leaving a trail of destruction.“Besides Justice Lamba, former Chief Justice of the Guwahati HC, two other members of the high-level panel include Himanshu Sekhar Das, a retd IAS officer, and Aloka Prabhakar, a retd IPS officer,” said a notification issued by MHA.

Rs 1,710 crore underconstruction Bihar bridge falls a second time in 14 months

In a major setback to the ongoing construction of the four-lane Sultanganj-Aguani Ghat bridge across the Ganga in Bihar, its super structure connecting Sultanganj in Bhagalpur with Khagaria collapsed Sunday evening. According to sources, at least 30 slabs of several pillars, including pillar nos. 9, 10 and 11, measuring around 100ft, collapsed.The estimated cost of the bridge is Rs 1,710 crore.

An Enforcement Directorate (ED) operation has led officials to cryptocurrency worth Rs 9 crore in a wallet but they are not sure if they can retrieve the money.The wallet is controlled by Dubai-based entrepreneur-investor Vinod Khute, who allows its operation only thrice a month when the wallet owner can sell crypto on the provided platform and can get money transferred into his account.
