He termed Pawan as his elder brother. Thanking the party cadre and people at large for standing in support of Naidu, Lokesh said that these false cases cannot stop TDP from fighting against the vindictive YSRCP government.

The Andhra Pradesh Police Crime Investigation Department (CID) has filed a petition in the court seeking 15 days of custody of former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody in a multi-crore scam, said an official.(PTI)

While former AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is in prison for his alleged role in the skill development scam, he’s embroiled in another graft case — the Amaravati capital city inner ring road scam — in which he’s accused No. 1. Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, and former minister P Narayana were accused of changing the alignment of the inner ring road (IRR) to favour a real estate firm, Lingamaneni Estates, and causing losses to farmers. In return, the Naidu family was allegedly gifted the Lingamaneni guest house as free accommodation. CID investigation also found that the Naidu family owned Heritage company purchased land and public money was used to renovate the guesthouse, without declaring it an official residence. On Monday, CID filed a petition in the ACB court, seeking a transit warrant for Naidu, who’s currently lodged in Rajahmundry jail as a remand prisoner.

TDP News: All 19 TDP MLAs under house arrest for past 72 hours
The state government has placed all 19 TDP legislators in Andhra Pradesh under house arrest for the past 72 hours. Police rounded off the houses of all MLAs and senior TDP leaders from the early hours of Saturday, soon after the arrest of party chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Nandyal. Even when Naidu was brought from Nandyal and produced in the court on Sunday, his MLAs and other leaders were not allowed to move out of their houses. The situation continued on Monday, when TDP gave a call for statewide bandh in protest against Naidu’s arrest and his subsequent 14-day judicial remand.

Andhra Pradesh Bandh News: Lukewarm response to TDP bandh call in Andhra Pradesh
The bandh call given by TDP in protest against the arrest and 14-day judicial remand of TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu evoked partial response in most parts of the state. Police took precautionary measures and put most leaders of the party under preventive detention or house arrest. There was heavy police presence at all bus stations and key locations which prevented TDP cadres from disrupting movement of buses. Anticipating trouble, most educational institutions declared a holiday on Monday, though private transport vehicles and autorickshaws plied as usual. In Vizag city, several TDP leaders were either placed under house arrest or taken into custody. Traders shut shops in Vizianagaram and Anakapalle.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday moved a petition in the special ACB court, seeking directions to consider house remand as judicial custody instead of jail in view of perceived threat to his life. The former chief minister pleaded the court for specific relief to remand him in his house instead of Rajahmundry central prison where he is currently lodged. The court will pass orders on Naidu’s plea on Tuesday. The CID also filed a petition seeking his custody, which is yet to be heard.
