KOZHIKODE: Products manufactured at Sargaalaya, the Kerala Arts and Crafts Village at Iringal will now be available online with the launch of a website that facilitates shopping.
Images of products manufactured by over 70 craftsmen are posted on the website along with the price and material used.
“As Sargaalaya village, a craft cluster that was conceptualized as a tourism destination, was developed and implemented on the responsible tourism model, the purpose of the website is to make Kerala's traditional crafts an integral part of the tourism experience while providing sustainable economic support for artisans,” said officials.

“The price of a product is decided by the craftsman,” said CEO of Sargaalaya P P Bhaskaran adding that the price is given in dollar, euro, rupee and pound.
The products are presently listed under subtitles paintings, sculptures, metal craft, jewellery, wooden crafts, natural fibre craft, coconut craft, natural fibre products, handloom and eco crafts. The website www.sargaalaya.com also helps the customers to mail their queries and comments to the officials of Sargaalaya.
