KOZHIKODE: A man was injured in a tiger attack inside the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary at Cheengadimoola near Panavalli in Thirunelli panchayat in Wayanad on Monday.
Rajesh K, 29, who suffered a deep bite injury on his left hand and scratch injuries on stomach after being mauled by the tiger, has been admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College hospital. Hospital authorities said his condition was stable.
The incident took place at 10am in the forests under the Tholpetty forest range. "He had gone into the forest to fix the pipe with which they use drawing water from a stream when the tiger attacked," said wildlife warden Roy P Thomas.
