Watch: 6-year-old boy seriously injured after being hit by a speeding bike in Kerala

KOZHIKODE: A 6-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after being hit by a speeding motorcycle while he was crossing the road at Baliyoor in Meenja panchayat near Manjeshwar in Kasaragod district of Kerala.

The boy was crossing the road outside the Noorul Islam Madrassa, where he came to attend classes at 8.20am on November 25.

The CCTV footage shows the boy coming outside the madrassa, crossing the road running, and the speeding bike hitting him from behind.


The boy, who fell on the road, was taken to the hospital by local residents in a car. The CCTV footage shows a bus stopping to help the injured child.

Local resident Shafi said that the child, who was first taken to a hospital at Uppala and then to a hospital at Mangaluru, is now stable.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case against the motorcycle rider under section 281 (rash or negligent driving) and 125 (a) (endangering personal safety due to recklessness or negligence) of BNS.
