KOZHIKODE: After dumping waste under the very boards banning dumping at a particular place in the city, some anti-socials have started to damage the banners and boards installed by the local people to warn against waste dumping.
The board installed by Nanma Residents’ Association at Kundooparamba was destroyed by a group of unidentified anti-socials a couple of days ago.

The board near Maithri Nagar was also destroyed and the anti-socials dumped waste in the area.
“Following a complaint filed by the local residents, we have registered a case and have started investigation,” said an official with Elathur police station.
Anti-socials also dumped plastic and other waste near the children’s park at Bilathikulam housing colony on Thursday night.
A couple of weeks ago, a group of anti-socials threw over a dozen bags containing waste on the West Hill Chungam- Karaparamba mini bypass, said K Prakash a resident of East Hill.
A few months ago, over 60 sacks full of slaughter waste was dumped at Kalipoyka at Sarovaram forcing the district tourism promotion council authorities to stop boating and other activities at Sarovaram for a couple of days. Many residents’ associations have started installing CCTV cameras at junctions and waste dumping points to identify anti-socials who dump waste.
“We have directions to register case on all such complaints. Though residents alleged similar incidents, we have received only one complaint,” the police person said.
