KOZHIKODE: The state secretary of All India Democratic Women's Association (

AIDWA

), the women's wing of the CPM, has demanded the state government to file an appeal against the acquittal of the three accused by a Pocso court in the case related to the death of two young sisters in Walayar.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday,

P Sathidevi

, state secretary of AIDWA, said that the association would demand a reinvestigation into the case if it finds after examining the copy of the judgement that there have been lapses in the investigation into the case.

She said that the appearance by the chairman of the

child welfare committee (CWC) for one of the accused in the case was unjust. Sathidevi said that the two minor siblings and their families should get justice.

The three-day long state conference of AIDWA, which concluded here on Sunday, elected Susan Kodi as president, P Sathidevi as secretary and C S Sujatha as treasurer. As many as 564 delegates participated in the conference.
