Teachers boycott answer sheet valuation

college teachers and staff association (SFCTSA) on Thursday boycotted the centralized

answer sheet valuation

of the sixth semester BBA examination of

Calicut University

alleging that the university was forcing self-financing college teachers to attend the valuation camps without even giving the daily allowance.

“The daily allowance of the self-financing college teachers has been reduced as per the new norm of the Calicut University, and an order regarding this was released just a day before the commencement of the valuation process,” alleged the association leaders.

The new order will help the government and aided college teachers to avail leave surrender facility during the vacation period, they alleged. The self-financing college teachers are getting only a meagre sum as monthly salary. Many managements do not even pay salary during the vacation period, they pointed out.

“There is lapse from the part of the university in conducting the valuation process, which has to be carried out transparently,” alleged SFCTSA district secretary K P Abdul Aziz.

“Varsity authorities cannot force the self-financing college teachers, who are not paid their salary during the vacation, to attend the valuation camp,” said unaided college principals’ association district president Varghese Mathew.
