terror organisation Islamic State.

The slogan of the meeting is “IS is anti-national.’ PFI national executive council member P Koya and Rafeeq Kuttikattoor will address the gathering on November 15.

Police had arrested three persons from Kannur who have allegedly made vain bid to cross over to Syria and have released the names of a few others who are either killed or still fighting in the IS strongholds.

At least twelve PFI persons are suspected to have joined the IS which include former divisional convener Shameer from Pappinassery in Kannur, who is believed to be killed. Two of its cadres- Manseed and Safwan- were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Kanakamala on October 2, 2016.

PFI was relatively silent when the

majority of the Muslim organisations

were busy organising campaigns against the IS. But the PFI leadership claims that they had spoken against the terror outfit in the past too. “We raised voice against the IS during the Unity March in 2015,” said PFI state president

Nazeerudeen Elamaram

.

“Islamic State is a mysterious organisation that is working for the disintegration of the country. Its activities are being reported from certain areas and there is an attempt to demonise Muslims using such news,” said PFI Kannur district president V K Noufal.

“As per the available news the intervention of the IS is not beneficial for Indian Muslims and its activities are very much dangerous as it adds credence to the Sangh Parivar campaign that Kerala is the hub of Islamic terrorism,” he said.
