The court granted permission after considering the request of the police team probing the death of Alphine, two-year-old daughter of late Sili and Shaju Skaria, to record the formal arrest of Jolly on Saturday.

The court also granted permission to the team probing Sili murder case to record the formal arrest of M S Mathew, who is the second accused in Roy murder case. The police had earlier recorded the arrest of Jolly in Sili murder case. The police sought permission to arrest Mathew based on the interrogation of Jolly. Later in the evening, the police recorded the arrest of Mathew.

The court will consider the bail application of Jolly on Monday. The application was moved by advocate K Hyder, who took up the defence of Jolly following the direction of the Legal Services Authority.

Meantime, the custody period of Jolly in the Sili murder case ended on Saturday. She was remanded in judicial custody by the court.
