Mammootty receives P V Sami memorial award

“We have been lending this beautiful eternal lamp of ours to other languages on the condition that they give it back. I wish that this eternal light continues to shine and spread its light forever,” MT Vasudevan Nair said after presenting the P V Sami Memorial Industrial and Socio-Cultural Award to Mammootty at a function held here on Sunday. The award was given to Mammootty in consideration of his contribution to the field of art and cinema and the various humanitarian services he has been spearheading. In his speech Mammooty said that cinema was a dream which he was still pursuing in life. He said that culture is the manifestation of the realization that all living beings coexist on this earth and all have equal rights over it.
The award function was inaugurated by state health minister K K Shailaja. Mathrubhumi managing director M P Veerendra Kumar presided over the function.
