Kozhikode Corporation
on Wednesday served notices to six hotels for polluting the
Conolly canal
by draining
waste water
illegally.
The notice was issued to
hotel Sagar
,
Indian Coffee house
, Major hotel Jafarkhan colony, Alakapuri hotel M M Ali road, Sastha Puri hotel and
hotel Disney land
. The notice was issued on the basis of inspection conducted by health inspectors E Babu and T Chandran
Dr R S Gopakumar, corporation health officer said that the civic body will give a month of time to rectify the detected anomalies. "Corporation will take actions including cancellation of license of the food establishments that fail to comply with the corporation order even after getting enough time to set up the facility..’’ . "civic body had renewed the dangerous and offensive trade license of these hotels last year after accepting a declaration from these hotels that they will set up own arrangements for the disposal of generated waste. water.
