Kozhikode adalat clears 155 files

KOZHIKODE: Adalat held at Bhuvaneshwari auditorium Cheruvannur for the people residing in the seven wards under the jurisdictions of Cheruvannur-Nallalam zonal office cleared 155 files on Friday.
Of the total 215 complaints, the adalat sent 60 files to the coastal regulatory authority, committee on the Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland for disposal.
Some of the applicants have been asked to resubmit the applications rectifying the violations of Kerala Municipality Building Rules detected in the submitted building plans.
The civic body conducted the adalat for the disposal of pending files of building plans on the basis of direction given by principal secretary to local self-government department, TK Jose duringan adalat conducted at town hall in April this year.
The adalat considered the building plans pertaining to issuing occupancy certificates, building plan approval and to grant building plan permission to applicants whose land fall in the limits of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) and the databank of Kerala Conservation of Paddy land and Wetland.
Corporation put up three counters at the auditorium to receive complaints from people residing in the limits of corporation wards of Areekad North, Areekad, Nallalam, Kolathara, Kundayithode, Cheruvannur East and Cheruvannur West which fall under the limits of Cheruvannur-Nallalam Zonal office of the corporation.

The adalat was conducted under the supervision of mayor Thottathil Raveendran and deputy mayor Meera Darshak.
Corporation's executive engineer KP Ramesh said occupancy certificates and building plan permission were issued to 85 applicants during at the adalat.
"Occupancy certificates will be issued to another around 70 persons within a week once they remit the fee. The remaining files will be send to CRZ authority and paddy and wetland conservation committee for the disposal," he said.
