KANNUR: Three children drowned in a muddy pond at

on Thursday evening.

According to police, the three children – Baashir s/o Noorudheen, Ajnas , s/o
Naasar
,
Mishab
, s/o Saamir – all residents of
Bavanagar
, and in the age group of six to eight years, had gone out for playing earlier the day. When they did not come back till evening the families and local residents searched them and they were found in a muddy pond in their neighbourhood around 7 pm. Though they were rushed to a private hospital in Kanhangad, the doctors declared them brought dead.
Police said the three boys were relatives and the fathers of Ajnas and Mishab are brothers. The bodies would be handed over to the families after autopsy on Friday.
